total removal will return the dark newsletters ... ... in this blog, its chorus to report ... no, no pega ni ahí.
is the Enclave Vocal Ensemble (directed by María Inés Aguilar and Mario Witis arrangements) and The Nobodies (direction and arrangements by Jorge Chanal), two groups several years ago are doing their thing so surely must be quite clear what it is vocal music. And among its ranks with top-level arrangers and prolific output.
Meet at the Virgin Church of the Poor, Carlos Villate 5156, Munro, and the show will start at 18:30. How could it be otherwise (see if the name of the church) The meeting will be for charity, so the entry will be requested nonperishable food as the only requirement to enter, so do not forget your pasta package or can of peas. Just in case do not bear chocolates, because it is difficult to resist temptation, you know ...
What do you want to watch programs that I designed? Well, go and can not only view, but even those can be.
The hope there, do not miss, Johann
"chorister or firefighters? "... On Sunday November 4 we will find coral ....., at 18 Hrs A little less than 1 hour one of the participating choirs informs me that for a particular problem can not attend. Was there any possibility that a chorus save me ????..."
This mail came in today on a mailing list dedicated to our activity, and rescued him from there is because I note that is a phenomenon that has been repeated with some regularity in recent times.
In fact, I recently went to sing at a choral event, covering a chorus that warned it would not be involved with 4 days in advance . Of course, for my group was the phenomenon, but I think it's not the point.
I think the important, in this case, you get a little on-site who organizes or coordinates the event. In many cases it often happens that the organizer is a chorus or part of it, people who are killed getting lung pure place, putting him in a position, by distributing, designing flyers, newsletters and programs hand, in some cases, diplomas and personalized souvenirs ... And all for what? For last minute (think of a coral meeting usually planned months in advance) you send a mail saying "you know what, we will not go, conseguite another chorus."
How one can put forward to organize another meeting coral? Okay, usually always see any group (medium or small, which obviously are the ones who have to mobilize people and therefore less able to respond faster) than "off the fire", but still you have to find a place to keep you the souvenirs for a choir of 40 singers , you had to replace it with a sextet. And what you spent on materials and labor time, do not get replenished anyone.
If there were one or two cases like this, it would arm all the fuss. But note that so far this year, as I said, is becoming a recurrent phenomenon. And sad, because this causes disappointment of organizing choral, and ultimately we will end up running out of places to sing.
Is it too much to ask that those responsible for directing a choir are to culminate in a little more responsible? I hope not.
Sorry for the bad vibes, and good luck for the poor girl who sent the mail from the start, Johann
is Gardel, Lepera and guitarists time ago (well, once again) not write anything, as any surfer will be able to look boring. Many comments received requesting information about the whereabouts of this type, and not to be a few who think they share housing with Seguro (the leave thinking, hehe ...). Fortunately, it has not been.
Really, the only thing that has happened is that a fact was not motivated to return to pounding the keys. But oh, miracle! Finally the skies have wanted my feet came up with a sick trigger cash. And here I am.
The fact itself has nothing to do with choral music, but well worth mentioning and you'll see why. We were sharing an evening
interdisciplinary arts (drama and music) with the New Residence grupete Vocal, and one of the artists who had really left us all with his mouth open and begging for more and more encores.
is Dellasoppa snake was , who usually appears accompanied by the loose strings (Anímides Of Bace and Elysium Fields) in a show in the style of Gardel, Barbieri and Aguilar ... but full of surprises. Bueh, and to read the names, you will have noticed that this is not a tango show too attached to traditional patterns. But not too far away.
Dellasoppa (formerly known as Silvio Cattaneo, part of the show "Glories Porteñas ") is revealed above all as an accomplished guitarist, as he related (yes, I spoke as if such a thing as devilish drew plenty of chords on the six strings ) his companions were unable to accompany him "for budgetary reasons." Yes, no euphemisms. Once
unexplained absences, became part of his delight with hilarious repertoire, with gems like "Peddlefeet" (the typical salesman speech up of a group, offering the most unusual goods), "Back Carlitos" (which tells what has been done for several of our glories, with an unexpected final), "The Fuler" (a pretty unconditional love), "In Honor Permit" (confessions in bulk), "A Brief History of Tango" (a compendium enough completito), "Garufa" (but translated into English), and several more. I dunno, must have been about 10 or 12 tangos and milongas, but all we flew.
is to attend a presentation of snakes is to be permanently Dellasoppa trying not to die laughing, if only not to miss the next joke. And it is hard, eh. Snake throws a gag after another, all referring to the classic tics of tango and tango culture, with an enviable sparkle and indisputable good taste. I can guarantee that only Les Luthiers I laughed like that, and I'm not exaggerating in the slightest. Whoever
found not to have more to attend this Thursday 25 at Bar Tuñón, Maipú 849, Capital, where snake will be presented on time (I suppose, bah) at 21 hours. Right there can get their CD " Tangus bonaerensis " which also can be purchased online by following the link, the modest price of 19 bucks (a pesito unless the input value to Tuñón, leaving 20). Taking into account that it has 19 tracks, it is easy to see that we are paying them $ 1 .- per track, a very reasonable price. No, I do not charge commission for the goat, it's just that I feel good giving it a little handle to an artist (or group of artists) really worth it and something else.
Well, maybe on Thursday I walk by. Who is turned on?
See, Johann
Luthierías These days, any more or less informed Buenos Aires should be quite clear, is conducting the "Expo Les Luthiers 40 years ", which has been mentioning in this blog in some comments.
It goes without saying that attendance is mandatory for anyone seeking to know something about music (be it coral or not) and intelligent humor. In addition, those who make up the Argentine choral movement has a pair of extra reason that surely will be very attractive.
The first is already mentioned several months ago, and it is a venture of a friend of this blog Diego Lenger, who refuses to be called "master" So I save the title. This undertaking is neither more nor less than the album "Thank Mastropiero ", in which many of the best choirs and vocal groups Argentines make their interpretation of some gems from Les Miserables. The list is long, but thanks to this modern marvel called "copy and paste, here they are approached:
1) Theorem of Thales - Extramuros
2) Oi Gadoñaya - Vocal Group Broadcast
3) Epic Oedipus of Thebes - Engineering Coro
4) Mastropiero Bolero - Maguey
5) If not santiagueño - Basil
6) The mare of mine - Coro Trilce
7) The explained - Santaires
8) The beautiful and graceful girl - Sexteto Cantabile
9) Lazy Daisy - Cabernet
10 ) We teens my little - They
11) Añoralgias - Librevoz
12) Forgive - La Maroma
13) Sex Education Modern - West Wind
14) Johanna - Chameleons
It should be noted that this recording is the first edition of the seal Pulse label 70, which in principle, as I have understood, is dedicated to our choral music almost exclusively. Which is worth an applause. The Expo
can get the CD to a $ 25 .-, and I have the intention, in this case (and is already) not pirated. As soon as I hear, I tell them. So far, only half heard I hit the "Oedipus" but it looks pretty good.
The other reason "coral" to visit the Expo is that it also can find for sale the book "A chorus of Les Miserables," which according to the newsletter " meets the original scores of choral pieces held by Les Luthiers in a carefully revised edition by the same authors, which includes Lazy Daisy, Bolero Mastropiero, santiagueño If not, he explains, and other titles that cover many genres the ages. "Unfortunately there have informed me the price of this work, but being Ediciones GCC, I do not go too expensive.
Unfortunately I could not go to the presentation of any of these two editions. Saturday 18 was the concert presentation of the CD (you can see the comments in the blog Expo and in the Diego Lenger by following the links), and today in the afternoon was that of the book. But anyway, the Expo continues until 19 / 9, if I remember correctly, and certainly at some time go by and I will make a copy of each. I honestly think any of them may be missing from my library (or CD library, worth Johannes .)
Where have in my power I tell if it was worth.
Greetings, Johann
Return corals half This time, I swear, I have a medical certificate.
is true that I was missing too much class time, but it is also true that I walked too good health, and in fact I can still consider myself an "outpatient" because I'm still in treatment, yet I have some scheduled appointments, and some (major) I have not dropped yet.
uneasy for no one, I clarify that mine was not serious, my life was at risk, nor what little is left of my mental health. I had, or rather, I have yet, is a "viral otitis media, which began as a simple cold and was complicated until I was almost totally deaf in his right ear. And the truth, not wish it on anyone (well, actually, yes there are some who wish it, but not in the coral area, so no names).
The damn otitis caused me not only the well-known as unbearable as earaches and the rest of the skull, but also some ague that I lay in bed helpless even to turn on the compu. Ugly, really ugly.
But little by little I'm going back to my activities, and of them is "Lario Choir." I have to mention some very interesting news coral picture, write the chronicles of a couple of very interesting concerts that involved the New Residence Vocal grupete , inform about the launch of a very interesting album and creating a very interesting label, and catch up with some things, all very interesting. But first, I have to publish a newsletter, no less interesting than the above.
transcribe verbatim, just pure lazy (praise the inventor of Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V):
SHEPRAYS

Admission is free.
from and all are cordially invited.
If the audiologist does uncover the hearing tonight, try to go. If not, would be half the divine go button to see the Sheprays (beyond cute they are) with one ear closed for renovations. But those with both ears in operation I assure you have an excellent opportunity to gratify with good music and a fantastic show.
I hope its good wishes for a speedy recovery, or do you prefer a Johann someone deaf?
Ok, better not answer, Johann
"Skepticism or disbelief? Meeting with disagreements be that you're so burned by the disappointments of life, but the truth is that when I read the news (and the first impact), the truth is that I was not moved a hair.
The news referring to more or less said the following:
"THE CITY HAS BEEN TRELEW DESIGNATED AS THE NINTH PLACE CORAL WORLD SYMPOSIUM TO BE HELD IN THE YEAR 2011. "
Perhaps some of you, to read such holder (worth a plate Cronica TV as accompanying this post), they'll say" Wow, to the end was really, Somo as best in the world. "
What I thought was" What? ".
We'll see. A symposium of this kind usually involves: * exhibitions
a director known about their experiences.
* theoretical and practical workshops by them.
* opportunity to meet and exchange views.
* concerts by one / s of them, involving Chorus / s driver / s.
All this is very good, no doubt. And it should be added the recognition that this designation means for the city of Trelew, home for several years one of the most respected choral festivals of the world, noted for organizational quality, the competitive level and (say say) transparency in the decisions of its judges, usually comprised of people of unquestionable trajectory. And no less a recognition of Argentina, on the basis of verifiable fact of being at the head of South America at the coral, at least quantitatively (as far as I know, in Brazil there are very few choruses).
So far, so fantastic. But ... I have my doubts. Well, if it would be Johann Tenorio.
Not that I'm against, or that it will boycott the symposium, or anything like it. It's just that I wonder what it's worth all this?
For starters, who will go? Obviously, the usual suspects, people who generally admire and respect, but in some cases, at this stage of the game start to become "figuretis" of choral music. Okay here that lack enough time to 2011, but I would be surprised to learn that in the event included some young directors who are extremely talented, but generally do not appear in these cases.
And the chorus? Will any good? Yeah, right. And fit the same considerations as in the previous section. Perhaps we are fortunate to come either from outside, but I doubt it.
Another thing. Is often mentioned when it comes to economic policies, the "theory of trickle-down", referring to the figure of a glass of water, which when full, overflows, and the remainder, obviously falls down. In this case, what is the spill? Those who can not attend the symposium, "the symposium will receive some benefit, beyond anecdotes to tell us the director upon his return (as long as there have been fortunate to attend)? Obviously I do not mean economic benefits but a real possibility that musical growth.
Some may say "and what happens is that Tenorio is jealous because he will not go." Maybe there's something about that, but in this case, what worries me is that I am not there, but not going to be 99% of the coral community in Argentina. It's a question of working for those who do attend, are really representative of who we are going to look out, as those things that are never reached. And when again, we note that they have grown musically and spiritually through the experience, know and share.
Well, what I know, able to wander just another me, another reason more out of container. But in the end, is covered in the rules of this blog. Anyone who wants to disagree with my dissent, is cordially invited to express it in the comments that I await anxiously.
or forever, lol, Johann
My apologies friends who told me this story, which occurred in yesterday, for not keeping the secret ( I actually asked, so there Tuti). But the fact that I shall relate is worthy of inclusion in an anthology of the great animals of choral music in Argentina. And if you do not know what will happen same, but I broke down with laughter when I was told.
also promise not to give names. Hete
here that during this weekend we were visited by a choir of a neighboring country, I will not name, but many must know what I mean. And was invited to participate in a couple of choral, one on Saturday and another on Sunday (calculated how much the public could have yesterday afternoon at a meeting coral, as they should have checked Rita Stein and Oscar Messiah).
The first sign that the organization was somewhat disorganized, received it on Saturday afternoon, in the form of a press and at that point a little more than late, which announced both games. This provoked and then a couple of complaints on mailing lists devoted to the coral area, for the delay in sending the newsletter. But that was nothing more than the beginning, you see.
I know nothing about how was the meeting on Saturday, but apparently he was pretty good. The problem was at the meeting yesterday, Sunday.
As expected, the public could be enumerated on the fingers of one hand, and would have left little finger. Of course, at the same time, the selection of dance in the warm Basile Maracaibo to the beat of a samba three single notes (thankfully).
At the appointed hour that was to begin the concert, even had not arrived and the organizer and director of the choir both host and guest choir members (who were supposed to be transported by the organizer). Yes had come the director of this choir, which tried to explain this situation in itself inexplicable dwindling audience, with his proverbial sympathy (in the environment is known for its cool) and then try to improvise something with the chorus that had available, which was the host choir, which itself had come but had no director. Then attacked the "Ave Verum" by Mozart, as pa 'do something.
then tried to run another play, but the absence of scores available, and as none of coreutas present the idea had the tone of the work, it became clear that the task was almost impossible. Luckily, one of the duds was coreutas director and in front of the surprised smile of his companions, as could another issue addressed. As told, was the musical moment of the evening.
At that time, as often happens in every encounter coral that price, a cell phone rang. Lo and behold, the caller was none other than the clueless organizer of the meeting, explaining that "as it was getting late," the chorus was not invited to the church that had been happening all this mess, but to a nearby school, and inviting these to go over there. Yes, well understood: the organizer, on their own and without explaining the reasons for their disappearance and guest choir, decided at that time that the meeting should take place elsewhere. Grotesque, to say the least.
Well, the thing just kept in the nearby school. The problem is that apparently the school was quite big, because once the two directors, both choirs and the public were present at the scene, took 20 minutes longer to find each with his choir director, and vice versa.
To all this, half of the host choir had gone to drink mate to your home (something for others to understand at this point), so the director-organizer did what he could with remains of the choir, while his daughter was engaged to destroy the facilities of the auditorium, as is his custom (I know what I mean).
And finally, the guest choir and its director were able to agree on the stage, and provided as I have a very good show, full of warmth and good feeling, something that experienced after the incidents, it more than worthwhile.
My conclusion, to end this post is that I was not too bad!
But hey, that's what friends are going and then counted.
I hope you have fun as much as I Johann
Gacetillas per la Domenica And one day he returned the old Johann, that every week of choral published newsletters, including some not involved in any of their groups ...
And bueh, ever had to happen. I got a couple of notices of meetings to be held this Sunday corals 8 / 7 (both at 17 hours), and I said "Well Johann, it's time to get out of the nap and give the keyboard and mouse."
So I inform both games, in which as I said, do not participate with any of my groups, so it can go with confidence.

see, two proposals rather dissimilar, and quite far apart from each other geographically, so that there are no such conflicts. Choose and go.
See, Johann
The closure of the tour (for now) I find it very cheerful course, is that after this concert, do not feel like singing more and keep the memory of something so beautiful just as experienced yesterday at the Cathedral of San Martín, thanks to the lovable invitation of our friend Oscar Messiah.
do not know what I can tell, because the truth is that those things that transcend the musical fact and fill the soul with gratitude for having been there, so well that we have tried.
I think that must have influenced our performance much because of me is feeling, as a member of Vocal grupete New Residence, having given our best show to date. Obviously, I can not be even remotely objective, but still being conscious of having ugly blunders at some time, just feel like I let all of us in this warm setting. And here comes what I can say about our performance, because anything else would say tainted by my own feelings at the moment.
But if you just mentioned "that warm stage", is because despite the cold night, the Chamber Choir Allegro Molto warm altar left us after his performance.
When I notice of this meeting, I threw in passing that "Allegro Molto sounds more and better," I do not know if I was ever as accurate as with the short definition. The CCMA has really shown progress evident in every action of his that I witnessed, and this time was no exception.
The code is simply an excuse, so I will just mention: "Chant des oiseaux" (Jannequin), "Weep o mine eyes" (Bennett), "The Seven Words of Christ on the Cross" (C. Franck) "Cum Sancto Spiritu (Vivaldi)," Hallelujah! " (Handel). All works in the exact cooking point, perhaps with a tiny stain (with which this year come very fussy), which was the diction of the soloists, who at times, and even considering singing in Latin , are not understood much. I say the only blemish, because in pitch, volume and expressiveness, there was nothing, but nothing serious, that reproach.
Then I leave a small sample video, taken with my palm (so do not expect high definition and surround sound Dolby 7.1), and hoping that the controversies generated by this case as in other media corals because of certain recordings "underground" concerts. Not even asked for permission, so I stick to flogged want to strike me.
Enough talk, here is the "Cum Sancto Spiritu" according to the Allegro Molto:
I owe my photos, any time I edit and upload.
EDITION: the truth is that I'm half lazy (which should be an improvement, down full-time bum), so I take that Oscar and I published his own commentary about the meeting, the blog of the Molto Allegro . And because it's full of pictures, instead of rising mine (which are not nearly as nice as him), here I leave a link to the chronic Messiah concert by Oscar . But there are some embarrassing comments and mine, too.
See you at the next post, Johann
Well, yes, I know it's not very inspired wordplay, but what they want, at this time ...
I also know that there are many concerts these days, not just those that give me with my vocal group, but the truth is that I am getting really little new about it. I do not know why, but for example ADICORA, since the change of authorities is not doing dissemination of its events. Announced last year an average of 2 or 3 concerts a week, this year ... nothing ... What is happening to us, guys?
worse, when I get a warning (for example, the concert choir Conis aunt last Saturday), I get caught in the middle whirlwind of activities and even I have a minute to post it. My apologies, Tia. Like, if possible, I ask you to tell me 4 or 5 days before to see if we can avoid these conflicts. How was the concert?
So this beautiful page is becoming a little on the national broadcast exclusive grupete Vocal "New Residence" , yeah yeah, same to which they relate the last 3 or 4 posts.
To complicate matters further, we have been singing quite often. Luckily, obviously, because it is a joy to sing with the grupete.
And yet, if we can share a meeting with Coral Allegro Molto (that's the pun I referred to), led by my friend Oscar Messiah, and it sounds better every day. This meeting will be this Sunday at 20 pm., At the home of the Molto Allegro, that is, at the Cathedral of San Martín. The tax residence of the Cathedral is Mitre and San Lorenzo, obviously in the town of San Martín, Pcia. of Buenos Aires. To be clear, is right in the middle of the Plaza de San Martín.
is noteworthy that the proceeds from this event (whose entrance is free, the revenue is through advertising programs hand) will be used to tour the Allegro Molto held shortly by the Province of San Juan.
However, as you know, fund we like to count the artists is the presence of a large audience, so come on, they're going to enjoy. Or at least let's give up everything to happen, and if not, we refund the money from the entry, hehe.
See you on Sunday, then Johann

grupete Ice Age III (close the freezer) is terrible, old, so you can not. My last concert was last year with AlmaVoce mid-December, with a sense temperature of 43 º. My first concert this year was on Saturday, back in the confines of the Federal Capital, where the polar wind was no obstacle to take their arctic temperatures everywhere, and it goes without saying that the doors and windows of the church " Cristo Obrero "he opposed a token resistance. Even the profusion of enclosure heaters (all full) could prevent the mercury column remains stable around 0 degrees. And winter has not yet started fucking.
Such was the environment which produced the expected debut of Vocal grupete New Residence, which announced with much fanfare in the previous post.
Luckily, we were not alone in the heroic task of fighting the cold with our music prevailed, and that the meeting took place as part of the cycle "Sing Buenos Aires, coordinated among others by Hugo Castro. A commendable initiative that deserves the greatest success, and this time we met her Yupaz Vocal with The Beast Coral Juan Martin Picarel and the Chamber Choir of the French Institute of Marcelo Valva.
The other "enemy" with which we had to deal with was hyper-reverberant acoustics of the church, and in that sense, that led the losers was the Vocal Yupaz , who opened the meeting with his version of "The iceberg "Adrian Abonizio (very allegorical, by the way). And I say it is losing because of the 4 preset groups, was presenting a more rhythmic, with almost constant percussion and guitar, and being a large group , was even more difficult to assess the arrangements and lyrics that played. Still, Yupaz is a fairly homogeneous group and very experienced, which left more than airy commitment, in part thanks to the outstanding performance of the soloists.
Of course, Castro teacher, I have to say, in my opinion "Ji-ji-ji", the Redonditos Ricotta is not to make a song with a chorus. Perhaps I am too Round fan, and even more ricotero that stage, but I think there are issues "corals" of the Indian and Skay. Might be "That star was my luxury," or something like that.
Other songs I liked a lot, and I felt like listening to "A step", one of the most enjoyable works of the repertoire of Vocal Yupaz.
"Coral The Beast", who performed after us, disappoint all the expectations that had ... in their name. In effect, showed great subtlety, expressiveness and good taste in their interpretations of "It's only a paper moon", "Blackbird" and "Moondance" in Picarel own arrangements with strong trends jazz and hints of barbershop (and I see me stopping Cello ear to read this little word), then going for a very solid rendition of "This marriage" by Eric Whitacre, and closing with a folk theme, "Villa de Villares under Argentine Vocal Group, which I loved so neat and well sung.
say he was the debut of the Beast Coral ... Well, considering that, and the youth of its director and its members, the projection that I see in this group is scary. Keep it up. The
Chamber Choir of the French Institute of Ramos Mejía (maybe Coni known) is a chamber choir with all of the law. Or almost, because escaped a bit average with some popular repertoire, but always making it clear his style chamber music. " Even, even ventured to reinvent "the song most beloved and hated the Argentine choral repertoire" (as chosen words of Marcelo Valva), Liliana Cangiano arrangement of "Te quiero" de Benedetti and Favero, a very beautiful version ... and of course, good camera.
What I most enjoyed about the performance of the CCIF was the piece that opened his performance, "Ave Maria" by Franz Biebl, which I think is what best fits your style. Popular works (the aforementioned "I Love You", "The old cooper" arrangement with Ricardo Mansilla, and "white bicycle" under Valva itself), but sounded wonderfully in tune, filling and (his way) in expression, suffered a major problem in this genre, which is the lack of clarity in Lyrics, something to be noticed much in the work of Piazzolla and Ferrer. Eye, we must also recognize that in this sound, it was impossible to understand even a speaker of the ISER reciting the "Arroz con leche", but a little work on the diction will add much to this group. Moreover, there is nothing to blame, the truth is that I was eager to hear more of the CCIF. It will not miss an opportunity, I hope.
As for us, What I can tell ... I did not stop to enjoy a moment while we sang. I think we were pretty good, or at least that was the impression I got from the subsequent comments.
But thanks to new technologies and, above all, the Herculean work of my co-rope without embarrassment (and I congratulated him by phone, but I take this opportunity to repeat in public, because it sent a phenomenal laburo) , I leave here the opportunity to judge for yourself.
Ladies and gentlemen, this ... Vocal grupete the New Residence performing "Heart Breastplate" by Mario Benedetti and Beatriz Corona:
YouTube, right? Hope you enjoy it. Moreover, I think that right there can leave their comments, and if not, they can do it here.
Our next concert will be ... hehe, read the next post, to be published shortly.
Hold on a bit, che, Johann
unravel the mystery is! ! So, dear readers, so I will make known what was the mysterious project that participle from back in December of the year past. I hinted at it several times, but only now am able to expand I gave few details on these opportunities.
grupete This is the Voice "New Residence" , comprising two corollaries to No conspicuous embarrassment and The Island, which we join the lady of SINV, that is the prettiest, plus two ex -modusponemses, Grace and Walter, and myself. In other words, a nice vocal sextet, which from the beginning called "the grupete" and from there that the name became an unavoidable part of our identity. That's why we are not a vocal group, but the grupete Vocal "New Residence" .
Our repertoire is popular primarily Latin America, but also include some things Moruja and Beatrice Fernando Corona, which are not strictly folk music but also not too far from this side (and is arguably Latin America). So will samba, chacarera and Candomble, and we owe them the tango for a little later.
And if just now I give you this information because this very Saturday we will make our debut in public at the meeting organized by the M ° Hugo Castro in the Parish of Christ the Worker, 3242 Lafuente located in this city. The event starts at 20 pm., And also involved the Vocal Yupaz led by Hugo Castro said. Vocals should be more involved, but the truth is that misplaced information and not remember what they were. In any case, if found, edit the post and give you the full data.
So good, that we want to know ... are earnestly invited. Of course, keep in mind that will be our first concert. Are pious, not this reporter evil and mean.
The hope Johann
Zentner, the reference rebel I came in yesterday 3 mails of M º Javier Zentner, whom you will remember for launching the initiative to do a "March coral "seeking more government support for business.
In one such mail, asking me to publish Zentner following:
"Dear Johann:
I have read with interest the exchange of messages and opinions raised at the site Corollary, referring to the failed call to file a petition to the authorities of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, episode occurred between November 2006 and April 2007 and still continues its evolution.
As I have already been cited repeatedly for clarification purposes and update information about others, I am writing to request that you publish this in the same place which have been issued the reference (my computer skills and my patience has not been my intention to fruition solve directly).
understand that there is no need to elaborate on the motivations of the covocatoria. In messages sent to various networking sites and discussion forums can follow the process.
My decision to try to involve ADICORA in the call is supported by the reality that is the only institutional body composed of many of my colleagues and myself which I participate. It did not seem right to move towards completion of the act without first having exhausted the bodies of discussion that would allow the accession of ADICORA. In the Assembly earlier this year, coinciding with the renewal of authorities, asked to include discussion of the topic in the agenda. The petition was accepted by the outgoing Executive Committee. Of the nearly 90 associated with the City of Buenos Aires Branch, came almost one third (29). My presentation was met by the arguments of other colleagues (most of them members of the current address), who accepted the justice of the claim, but rejected the proposed methodology. Put to a vote, the order of institutional took 3 (three) votes to 25 (twenty five) against and 1 (one) abstention. Subsequently, it was a personal decision to put to my colleagues on the Promotion Committee (Silberleib Marcelo and Fabio Valente), which we acted outside ADICORA, the appropriateness of suspending the mobilization waiting for the new Board of Directors of ADICORA solve some strategy. Those times happen at the moment and I suppose that the next meeting (June 10), there will be something new (and had a conversation during the first meeting of the Steering Committee).
In my opinion, the Community Choir is a group that includes ADICORA, but extends more broadly to other members of the Community (coreutas, composers, journalists, producers, relatives), we have no organization as such. I hope ADICORA make a positive resolution in a reasonable time for once and - if possible - for ever, the coral has a space language ongoing sharing of resources for the common good. This implies: scenarios, newspaper, computer, design, recording studios, personal, etc. And schedules planned and organized from the relevant structures, including coral language in its various expressions. All this without having to affect the already rich dynamics that thankfully we can generate outside the official area.
For a definition of "elitist" I read in one of the messages, let me clarify to whom it is issued, you do not need a "slip" to enter the Choral Directors Association. The "titles", such as scores, is a tool and a testimony, but not a sufficient condition. Several of the directors who share ADICORA lack of "slips" and endorse our condition can change from our mere background and consideration of our colleagues. Among other things, the Association to share experiences and organize to obtain community benefits.
A final paragraph, with particular target, "Borinquen" is the name the original inhabitants of Puerto Rico gave his land. Puerto Rico is far from Peru. Almost as far as the right of anyone to doubt the nobility of my intentions when I get involved in affairs of my activity. Also define attitude as "bite" to the possible mobilization of Coral Community is something that, in the '70s called - to paraphrase Landru - "fat lady things."
An affectionate greeting to you and who, with his well-meaning contributions enrich the forum. Javier Zentner
"
not convince me the tone used by Zentner, where he shares a few slaps to several friends of the house (I also received mine in another mail), but I agree with him various topics. In particular, I agree that it is a good time for FCBA ADICORA is issued in terms of mobilizing support or not, having spent 6 months! the original call.
The problem is that we all know, elections were held yesterday in Buenos Aires, and the result looks rather discouraging for those who intend to invest in cultural areas. Neither participants next ballotage seems very committed to promoting cultural events, and that one of them is the minister of Education and Culture.
Perhaps for this reason, now more than ever necessary mobilization.
also agree that not every statement to the authorities should be considered a picket line. As I said, I think the picket a demonstration of arrogance, which generally leads to rejection and subtraction possible accession of other sectors of the community (unless the subject is really valid, as in the case of citizens of Gualeguaychú). On the contrary, a demonstration organized and out of the way the normal development of the rest of society, it seems a perfectly valid application to be noticed by the authorities.
But again, I really like the tone used by Zentner. Okay, in this blog and the comments in the post "no turning A march" made some insinuations about his person and his possible motivations for organizing this movement (I apologize for the part I played), but anyway I think that for it to have any chance of success, it is imperative that we are all united and pulling in the same direction. Even with all our differences, we are all in the same boat, and if we fight among ourselves, we will not achieve anything positive.
May we all bring a bit of goodwill and willingness to help resolve the question, and move forward on this initiative.
I look to await their comments, Johann
And also, in this weather, do not try to publish hot news. That is not going to believe, but it held that in a few days we shot a first that I hope you like it a lot.
For now, I will report to Oscar Messiah is organizing a series of benefit concerts ... of his own choir, the very crook. But it remains a good cause, because the idea is to raise funds to pay for his next trip to San Juan, leaving them a fortune.
So I just sent the following press release:

All friends are trying to lend a hand, because the people of the Allegro Molto always behaved as true partners in our road map of choral music.
I lacked clear that the entry is free (I had commented that it was "cap", so doubts have two bucks in hand), and fundraising is done through the buffet. In other words, the money you contribute to the cause, returns in the form of goodies and, of course, very good choral music.
I do not know if I can be there, but there will be more events like this in a very short time, and if all goes well, they'll see me there singing. We'll see if we can adjust our agendas.
endeavor to go, because the Messiah and the Allegro Molto really deserve it, Johann
News chilly Once again we are gathered here to witness the passing Johann Tenorio apologizing for going months without posting a measly paragraph, and making promises never fulfilled such an aberration that does not happen again. What to do, the Johann so, take it or kill it (it is but they do not take it literally).
The truth is that I'm with a lot of activities, and for the worse two weeks ago I've been dealing with throes of a cold bastard that I'm lying in my bed as soon as I get home (when I), so I hardly go up to the PC.
But hey, I'm here because I came, and I have come I tell them that a man is being organized Megaencuentro for June 24 in honor of one of the most recognized choral arrangements of Latin America, the beloved Liliana Cangiano. Beyond personal preference, it is impossible to ignore that we all sing a settlement over his first experiences in our corals (and in some cases also in the later stages), and Liliana was one of those who fought for the movement over Argentine coral. And she that fought each other seriously, unlike others who also go heroes of choral music and is well known that only serve to work towards their own interests. A wise ... You know, I'd rather walk avoiding threats and intimidation.
Those in charge of organizing this megaencuentro are Hugo Castro, Jorge Chanal and Susana Iglesias, and the truth is that I find very commendable initiative, and in fact I sent them my support to the event and my promise ( in which they can trust as much as those of candidates for head of government of Buenos Aires, of course) that I will do my best to go cover the event for "Coro Lario" and select audience. The
megaencuentro be held in the Club Atlético Lanús microstage, and would start at 15 hours. For more information, click on any of the occurrences of the word " megaencuentro (including this one, of course).
pity that all this move eventually led to some friction between the organizers and a conspicuous reader of this blog (and will find out who he is, no doubt fit them), by a "misunderstanding" of the support of the latter to megaencuentro . This support was interpreted as an endorsement, not just the reading of yore, but the institution where she develops their activities.
bueh, the question is, once again, the question degenerated into another controversy in the "Choral Music." Thankfully, this time pleading voices were raised, that in good Creole; so stop fucking retruque indirect.
Anyway. Hopefully the tribute to someone who really deserves it is not tainted by these little dissent, that everything goes great, and if possible and once and for all, the mass media do if only minimal referring to something that we love this music is so important.
Then I pass the details of the choirs that have committed their presence so far:
LINCOLEÑA CORAL GROUP HURLINGHAM - ALCHEMY VOCAL - HARMONY - MOUTH TO MOUTH - CASTELARTE - CORAL ECOS DEL PLATA - Lunic CORAL - CORAL SPRING - QUORUM CORAL - CORAL Tenke - COMMUNITY CHORUS AND INDEPENDENT "BIRDS IN THE AIR" - INNOVATION CHORUS - CHORUS OF THE GERMAN SOCIETY OF LANUS - CHOIR CLUB A. I promise I'll post again soon afterwards, but you already know what to expect.
Hugs, Johann
Megaencuentro and controversial among teachers Occasionally it comes back a little bow and pay attention to try and see how others do things. And in these times, someone like this scribe (who keeps criticizing others as if they knew them by heart) is obliged to recognize that some people do things right. And by the way, learn a little.
days ago, without going any further, I had the opportunity to participate in the Symposium on Choral Conducting from the Repertory developed in the city of La Plata, the organization of Eduardo "Chino" Correa and Laura Dubinsky (Ediciones GCC).
(Note: hereinafter obviaré the title of "master" that should precede proper names to which I will mention, simply because they all have the less that title, and those who should have it).
And during the course of the day, the exhibitors showed, the vast majority who are well aware of his craft.
Since accreditation, the booklet that was given to works that were going to work was of excellent quality. There was, yes, some errors in the transcription of the works, arrangers victims whose cases had to do a "mea culpa" for not doing a thorough review before publishing.
The format of the show was simple: 30 minutes per speaker, which is generally respected enough, and pass the next. In those 30 minutes, the speaker had to drive attendees to read the book from cover to cover (the dream of every director, learn all the notes in half an hour!), And possibly saved some time to discuss some features of their work in front of his / s choir / s. Some chose to save the speeches and show all in practice, or go work in some depth and speak at least possible.
A batch of 6 exhibitors, an hour and a half for lunch, and another batch of 6 exhibitors. Delivery of certificates of attendance to those who wish (of course that, Cholula as I am in these cases, I'm thinking about where to hang my own), and we feel the next day. Simple.
So without further ado I will relate some characteristics of the work of each director. Rest assured, it will take much less than half an hour to read each story, in another selfless service "Lario Choir." VIVIAN
TABBUSH
"Melodia de Arrabal (Tango) - arr. Vivian Tabbush for children chorus 2 voices
It began with a fervent plea for the arrangers to work on the music of Argentina, and stating that he prefers to make arrangements for easy arrival to the people rather than dazzle you with advanced harmonies. Then set about the work itself, emphasizing not to interpret the figures as written, but to respect what the genre offers. View post "Pity bandoneon ..." to understand what I mean.
ANNEL Moroder
"wallflower seedlings (Kaluyo) - arr. Nestor Zadoff for 3-voice mixed choir
was the only woman (ups. .. what happened?) Between exhibitors, and as expected was devoted to emotional aspects of the work, having previously made clear that gender, from the high plains, is distinguished by regret. It was very enjoyable, but not too many details to highlight.
RICARDO BARRERA
"Elf carnival (carnival) - arr. Juanjo Cura for 3-voice mixed choir
not put great emphasis on the work itself, which gave him a pass without elaborating. Then went on to discuss his work with choirs system of pre-teens, and especially to the problems of voice changes in that difficult age. Abused Perhaps a little sense of humor, which at times the audience is a bit scattered. CARAMEL
Fioriti
"You're not my Margarita" (chamarrita) - arr. Carmelo Fioriti for children's choir to 3 voices
In my opinion the first time strong impact. For starters, we did put them all in the situation of children who are learning a piece, that is, without sheet music, and just with a sight. Imagine, all these were adults partituradependientes. From then on, the treatment they gave us was as if we were really children, and the truth is I felt like returning to childhood to lead us this hilarious character with sheep voice (seriously, like a bleating, even when he sang the bass parts).
EDUARDO CORREA
"Why" (cueca) - arr. Eduardo Correa for 3-voice mixed choir
The "Chinese" before, also devoted a good time to discuss characteristics and origins of the genre tackled in the play, then supplementing it with its application in the interpretation of same. As a matter of critical sainetesco work ("what you loved to go, if your old lady does not happen"), falls to mature, the emphasis should be on the comic, and both emphasized with what ... we ran out of time and the work was half-read. A pity, I think most of these are left with the desire to do the whole thing. WALTER
GIMENEZ "This is the song of a young heart" (love song Mapuche) - arr. Rodrigo Dalziel for 4-voice mixed choir
SATB Being the first play of the day, it was logical that he would take more work than before, thus Giménez said little, only briefly reviewed some issues of pronunciation Mapuche (which language beautiful singing, please), and let the work speak for itself. You may have been the song more beautiful than we did, and while we da capo a fine, surely many would have liked to further deepen the understanding for a while.
Well, lunch expected, and that height, the breakfast was only a fuzzy memory. Bravo
What is coming next, since returning, with the ravioli walking the final stretch of the esophagus and acute withdrawal syndrome of sleep, we expected nothing less than ...
ANTONIO RUSSO "At 12 pm" (Carol) - arr. Antonio Russo for children or female choir to 3 voices.
The fearsome master of Lower Calabria (bah, what do I know) this time, it showed his character proverbial rotten, and that many-including this writer included, arrived late because of the deluge that fell at that time the city of the end zone.
What we do, are able to forgive those who consider Russo as a hero, I confess it was the only one who was able to rip a yawn. It is true that the agency was calling me a nap urgent, but no less true that the way to work I found it quite outmoded Russo. Not to mention the work itself: the carols arranged by Russo is not exactly my favorites.
Just before starting to arrive to Anthrax stuffed envelopes and packages signed by "Unabomber", says what I say, the followers of Russo will continue counting the thousands, and many of them are characters that I admire. Must have done something. EDUARDO
Ferraudi
"Blue Star" (wayno) - arr. Eduardo Ferraudi for 4-voice mixed choir
This was, I confess, the most anticipated moment for me. If there was someone who had no desire to see in action, that was Ferraudi. So try to be as objective as possible.
To my surprise, we find a fix "easy" Ferraudi, which was settled early on the issue of sight reading. View realize that on that side there would be serious problems, Ferraudi could devote some freedom in interpreting the work. And that those who suffered were the sopranos, of course, because they were carrying the melody for most of the time.
And speaking of time, the 30 minutes achieved in addition to brief them Ferraudi briefly on some characteristics of huayno, and even for us to explain the circumstances under which it was written this particular song, and that will not detail here for reasons of space.
Angel Derman
"Al son del Candombe (Candombe) - Derman original Angel for children's choir to 3 voices
There was much to highlight the performance of this young director looking sixty, beyond the song seemed very nice and very suitable for children's choir, which surely must enjoy it when they sing. Derman took the opportunity to encourage the directors of these choirs to compose his own works instead of making arrangements, an experience he described as very motivating. JAVIER
DAMESON
"I come to offer my heart" (air chacarera) - arr. Gustavo Felice for 4-voice mixed choir
The first reference to what made Damesón was the difficulty of working on a well-known song and performed by artists as varied, the differences that might arise in the heads of the singers on the melody. Therefore, first of all, began to make to sing what was written, and it was not easy. Then came the detail
outgoing finally a director who made us use the body! To achieve a certain effect on the accompanying Damesón showed us a sort of dance steps on which we had to sing the little notes, and I suspect it must have worked, except some logs and the undersigned, for which to make a step dancing and reading notes at the same time as impossible as some motorists drive and look at the mirror at a time. OK, I'll be sexist, but come and tell me I'm wrong.
Well, the thing is, after all this hard work, spent half an hour and not get to see the entire array. Next time. PAUL
CANAVES
"That little star" (vidalita) - Esteban original Mario for 4-voice mixed choir
If there was one director who managed to leave me speechless, without a doubt that this was Paul Canavan. I will explain why. Cánaves
argued that he had received the play with just 3 days in advance (ouch, must have thought someone from the organization), so their reasoning was as follows: Why kill myself trying to analyze in depth a work with so little time? Instead, he preferred Cánaves explore another approach: an analysis of the work at first sight! And explaining to an audience of more than 100 people in real time!
I can guarantee that was truly fascinating to hear how the guy was looking at the work and drawing conclusions with just one reading, finding out what were the hot spots of learning, discovering the core rhythmic and metrical structure of each stanza, and so on.
In short, I could compare it with a spin in the mountains in Russia. I had a barbarian, but if the story is going to look boring. JAVIER
Zentner
"What's inconvenient to visit the Pancha" (polka) - arr. Javier Zentner for 5 voices mixed choir
here also there was a little speech, which was expected given the nature of Zentner. But it was short, so there was plenty of time to work on the play. Moreover, as was the last, I guess the organizers must have gifted him a couple more little minutes.
The song itself, as explained by Zentner, was one of the few genera distinctly European folk roots, and in this case, the arrangement was intended for a solo voice with the rest of mimicking vocal accompaniment. Therefore there was little difficulty in reading, except by the speed of tempo, as the aircraft passed like bars.
The "funny? was that nobody wanted to take over singing the solo part (supposedly for baritone), which was understandable because, having encuenta that the tempo of the work made it difficult to read either black ... Imagine what would be the melody that was in sixteenths. So I had to sing himself Zentner.
And that's all, folks. There was talk (short, thank God) not to know what official of the Province of Buenos Aires, and with that ended the Jornada.
On balance I must say it was an experience I enjoyed it, even without being a director. In the case of those that were, I reckon there must have been two prevailing views: that of which was to observe and learn from the monsters that was there before him, and which went with the idea of \u200b\u200b"what this who think he is. " It seems stupid, but there are always those cases. Worse for them, because not only did not learn anything, but it also must have bored a great time.
Well, what else I can say. Repeat, Johann
A free walking up A couple of posts ago, when he announced for the umpteenth time to return to the activity of this reporter (notice that later proved to be not serious, as usual), I told them that was organized in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires something as the First Progress of chorister who have news for these payments.
The thing is more or less like this: anyone who has read with some curiosity the summer billboard programmed by the government of this city, in the sphere of almost unbearable campaign a + BA ", you will notice with disappointment that the activity coral ... had been forgotten again. Of the more than 100 musical numbers programmed only one involved a chorus, the / the Choir of the Americas led by Damien Sanchez. At least, snapped out of being called to Kennedy. But not by much.
The issue was that some directors, beginning with the M ° Javier Zentner, launched an initiative to make the huge coral community porteña longer be ignored by the authorities. And intended to do a "march coral", which was originally raised by mid-December last year but was postponed after several excuses, some fairly consistent, others less so.
The date of the march was scheduled, then, for this month, but not too clearly. The latest information I received, back in January, spoke of " later than the second Monday in April (April 10, 2007) ", being that today is Monday 9. After that, I received no more news. Let's assume it was today. The already mentioned
Zentner and M ° Marcelo Silberleib got to the head of the organization of the march, asking for suggestions operational and / or formal about it, for example, if it was going to sing or not, what code , etc.
In parallel, seeking support worked coral community, because of course, nobody is going to organize a march that has little or no support. And without doubt the most anticipated support was to ADICORA City of Buenos Aires branch, which just recently renewed its authorities.
For no more laps, just yesterday I received, like many others, the following mail from FCBA ADICORA:
"Dear coral community: the new Federal Capital Commission ADICORA (FCBA) took on Sunday 25 March:
President: Diego Boero
Secretary: Miranda Analía
Treasurer: Kankyo Kozameh
Members: Irene Mancuso
Nocito and Maximilian Vocal Alternate: Eduardo Ferraudi
accounts Reviewer: Daniel Gonzalez
The assembly began discussing whether FCBA was ADICORA support to the march of the choral movement of Buenos Aires to the City officials asking for more space and budget for this activity in the Department of Music City. After deliberation, the vote marked that such support should not be given at this time. "
not ask me why. The information regarding the event will end there.
one wonders, would it not have been healthier than the entity gathers the most prominent directors of the country gave a detailed explanation about the reason for not supporting this march?
I can think of several scenarios that do not know if it's worth listing here. But the trouble is that none of these hypothesis leads me to imagine positive scenarios for the future of music coral that is often mentioned as "the cultural capital of Latin America."
course, then I say I'm a Malpensa.
Another question: was not until yesterday, supposedly 24 hours before the march, to communicate whether or not to support it? And incidentally, if that support is not going to give "at the moment," when they were going to give?
For all this, this scribe was waiting all this time if the progress is confirmed or not, whether there was support from the Association of Directors and / or other entities interested corals jurisdiction, if the repertoire of songs sent to interpret ... I expected to wait that his date, and progress or news.
Let's be clear: since as a manifestation of this sort would have counted on my support if it's for and regardless of who organize. Not fully share the ideas or Zentner or ADICORA, but in a situation like this, the situation warranted that the entire area of \u200b\u200bBuenos Aires coral join towards a just cause. No, it seems (I repeat, it seems) that among those who are dedicated to choral music, each is trying to bring water to his mill. And so we go, and so we will keep going.
All I ask is that a good time, stop breaking the illusions with petty political reasons. I refer not only to City Government.
Any new, I notice, Johann
The source of joy my friend's comment the island in the previous post is explained, is not going to believe. At least part of it, because coming from the island, we can not go asking for a conceptual precision and clarity of ideas too. And least of all, after the event itself, which affected us all in greater or lesser extent, they do not go around lying.
To put aside the run, the question was that on Saturday ultimo. Corollaries was meeting, for which no warned here on the blog and that was developed in less than 48 hours, via text messages, chat sessions and / or other notable technological advances expediency.
In fact, it was the first meeting of this kind that occurred in 2007. There were several, but this was the most popular.
The appointment was in a drunken academy located at Carlos Calvo and Joseph Marble, in the Buenos Aires district of Boedo, famous for having over 300 varieties of beer, craft and industry, rolls, canned or bottled, blonde, black, brown, red, half and half, sour, honey, cherry, domestic, imported, home ... well i think that is enough to explain the title of the post.
Who was? In addition to the writer, did more than an appearance on Maestro. Marcelo Bruzzo, the Countess with new boyfriend (pídanselas explanations to it), the aforementioned island, Lorraine (an old mutual friend) and Aunt Conis, whose last name because he always comes to dessert.
Needless to say that consumption of alcohol must have broken records at least American, because some of the attendees also foolishly ask about Macabre Dutch cans of an alcoholic strength climbed to 11.6% (normal for a beer of about 4%). You do the calculations, and imagine the results. I will not give names, but there were those who had to be removed almost on a stretcher. Pathetic, no doubt.
Well, I must say that the meeting was quite fun. No wonder.
only regret is not having led a miserable camera.
And yes, you will surely be repeated. I wonder if in the same place, because I can assure you that after one such meeting is to request an advance of the bonus, but does not fit doubt that all attendees we were eager to continue to dig ... I say, enjoying a good time shared with friends.
I'll have to both, and who wish to attend future meetings are corollaries ask you to inform me your MSN and / or number of cellular, I tell you that things are organized in one day to another, sometimes within hours.
Of course, not come at all fasting.
The hope Johann PD: take this opportunity to pass a personal ad. Next Saturday 31 / 3 at 20:45 pm. Saravá be presented, the band that "turn" in Paco Bar Club, Juan de Solis 1286, Olivos (riverfront). May even rise to play and sing some stuff, which the appointment is a must for those are eager to see me pass an embarrassment of historic proportions.
Game Over for the Holidays Open No, do not panic, the post title does not have any connotation related to the closure of the blog. Quite the contrary.
In reality, and to put an authentic Creole, what I mean is that the fuck is over. Building on that just returned from my vacation in Santa Terracita, and I'm back in full swing and musical work, return to the blog using the same momentum.
Of course, if my pen apologize for not showing too creative. It should be full of cobwebs from lack of use, surely.
But the urge is, so surely in the coming days I will report on coral activity in Argentina, as pompously announced in the header of the blog. And surely my next post will be to keep them aware of the movement that is brewing in the area of \u200b\u200bBuenos Aires, to see if once and for all our city, undoubtedly one of the most important cultural centers of Latin America, he begins to give coral activity the significance it deserves.
weekend before I tell them well. Warm hugs
Johann
